250 Years of Prayer

This July 4, 2026, we celebrate 250 years of the United States—a nation founded and sustained through prayer and faith as “one nation under God.” For centuries, prayer has guided us through trials and shaped our history. In fact, the future of our nation depends on each of us seeking God for our lives, our families, our communities, and our country. Join the Ladies of LoveTalk Network and guests, Doug James and Richard Battle, as they discuss the founding of our nation and this year's upcoming special events -- the National Day of Prayer and the Texas Governor's Prayer Breakfast.

DOUG JAMES is an eighth-generation Texan with more than 30 years of ministry experience in Central Texas. He and his wife, Michelle, have served with Hill Country Bible Church in Austin for over 34 years, including 16 years as Executive Pastor, and he has helped plant 46 churches throughout the greater Austin area. Doug currently serves as Coordinator for the 2026 Governor’s Prayer Breakfast and is President-elect of the Central Texas National Day of Prayer Task Force.

RICHARD BATTLE is a multi–award-winning author, speaker, media personality, and advisor with more than 30 years of experience speaking and training on leadership, volunteerism, sales, and faith. He is a weekly guest on John Rush’s Rush to Reason in Denver and has served on numerous boards, including appointments by Texas Governor Rick Perry to the Texas Judicial Council and the Texas Emerging Technology Fund. Having endured profound personal loss and hardship, Richard brings both credibility and compassion as the emcee for the 2026 Texas Governor’s State Prayer Breakfast, a position he has held since 2021.
