The Apostle Paul said, …our citizenship is in heaven. In other words, heaven is our home. However, as we are reminded every time we hear the breaking news, every time we pass a hospital or cemetery, every time we find ourselves in the midst of relational conflict, we are not home yet. We eagerly await the ‘there and then’ of heaven, but in the meantime, we are living in the ‘here and now.’ We will spend forever in heaven, but first we will be on earth for a little while. We are Temporary Residents. This reality has implication for every of our lives. In 1 Peter, Peter instructs us how to live well as Temporary Residents in this world.

Temporary Residents Week 1: Home Away From Home

There is a tendency to live as if this world is our final destination. But, remembering we have a heavenly inheritance that will never perish can give us the courage to endure the trials of this life that will only last a little while in comparison.
